Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner at the British Independent Film Awards.
The movie took the event’s main prices for Best British Independent Film and Best Director, as well as a Most Promising Newcomer award for Dev Patel.
Steve McQueen’s Hunger also scooped three trophies: best debut director, best actor for Michael Fassbender and best technical achievement.
