Robert Downey Jr has been named 2008’s top entertainer by Entertainment Weekly magazine.
The actor beat off competition from the Sex and the City girls, the cast and crew of The Dark Knight and comic Tina Fey to scoop the title.
This year, Downey Jr has appeared in superhero movie ‘Iron Man’ and Ben Stiller war comedy ‘Tropic Thunder’.
“After doing just about everything humanly possible to destroy a once-promising career – including spending the better part of a decade in courtrooms and even jail cells – he’s finally fulfilling his potential,” the magazine’s Benjamin Svetkey says.
Downey Jr will next appear in ‘Soloist’ and ‘Iron Man 2’, as well as the new Sherlock Holmes movie.
