Arnold Schwarzenegger’s The Terminator is one of 25 classic movies being added to the US National Film Registry.

The Registry preserves movies to protect them from deterioration.

Burt Reynolds’ 1972 thriller Deliverance and the 1933 original of The Invisible Man are among the other films being added to the archive.

“The registry helps this nation understand the diversity of America’s film heritage and, just as importantly, the need for its preservation,” says James H Billington of the Library of Congress.

Each year movies are chosen to join the archive based on historical or cultural importance.
